Honoring your energy… the key to working smarter, not harder! ✨

There is! We’ve all been working against our master operating system. The structure and system that has been created and that we live in today pretty much works for no one… unless you want to be completely burnt out, exhausted, unhappy, and end up alone.

Why was our society built on a structure that doesn’t work for any of us? Because it probably worked at some point, it allowed for structures to be put in place, it allowed for the creation of a civilized society… but it also runs on the premise that we all operate in the same manner, that we get to “fit in” to the norm, that we have to follow a specific path and structure for most of our lives. After years of living in this structure and system, we get to de-condition from most things we’ve been taught about how to achieve success, what success even means, how to manage your energy, how to operate a successful business, among so many others.

Human Design (HD) gives us a legend to decode the map of our unique energetic body. Our central operating system! Yes, I am a techie at heart 💜. Learning about the different energy types brought an incredible sense of appreciation and awareness to my life. Acknowledgement and validation for my own energetic operating system and a love and deeper connection for the operating systems of those around me. I am so grateful to Human Design for providing me the language and “translation” if you will, to be able to speak across operating systems. I see it as the different operating systems for our computers. Now I can speak to Mac and Windows with a greater understanding of how they view the world and what language or “code” may resonate for them. Now off my nerdy systems soap box! 🤓

I want to start with sharing a brief explanation of the five (5) energy types. Before I do, I want to be very clear and share this disclaimer:

*We all have a purpose in this life. No one energy type is not better or worse than the others. We are all here to bring our specific gifts to this world in our own unique way. We all have a part to play. Lastly, HD is not meant to limit you in any way, if this information feels restrictive or limiting… close the window and walk away.*

God has you here for a reason, we each have a purpose and an energy to embody in this life. In case you need a reminder today, YOU are special! 💕✨

Now getting into the meat of it. There are five (5) energy types: two (2) that create their own energy everyday and three (3) that have a limited reserve of energy. Below are the 5 types in order of most common to rarest.

Energy beings (about 70% of the population) meaning they create their own energy and have a replenished tank of energy everyday…as long as they are doing things that light them up! These beings are really here to enjoy life, do what lights them up, and respond to their physical environment. To Respond is their built in mechanism to guiding their energy to where it is meant to be used in the right place, at the right time.  

·      Generators (The Charismatic Builders) are the most common (about 37%). They are here to get things done. They are here to build, to execute. They have a warm, open and inviting aura that feels juicy and homey when you are in their presence. Generally thrive when focusing on one task at a time, are able to complete it, and then move on to the next. When they are lit up about what they are doing, their energy is so magnetic and energizing not just to them but to those around them!  On the other hand, if they always feel drained and exhausted, that is a tall tell sign that something gets to shift because they are not in alignment.

·      Manifesting Generators (The Multi-Passionate Creators) a combination of Manifestors and Generators (about 33%). They are here to both initiate, meaning bring ideas into this world and to do, have the energy to execute them. They also have a warm, open and inviting aura that feels juicy and homey when you are in their presence just like Generators. They are not meant to focus on one thing, as multi-passionate beings their energy flows best when they have the freedom to multi-task and dive into whatever fascinates them and move on to the next thing as their body tells them…without necessarily completing each task before starting on the next one. I like to think of Manifesting Generators (Man-Gens) like a Roomba. If you have ever watched the Roomba clean, there seems to be no logical pattern to how it is cleaning and somehow it still cleans everything it needs to! Similar to Man-Gen energy it may not make sense to others, it may not be linear, but it will get done!

Non-energy beings (about 30% of the population) they have limited energy as they do not create their own. Key for non-energy beings is REST and not trying to keep up with our Generators and Man-Gens!

·      Projectors (The Guides) (about 22%) here to guide, not do. They do not create their own energy, they have a limited reserve of 3-4 hours to do things that drain their energy on a daily basis versus things they are passionate about and that light them up! Their aura is open and penetrating. This allows them to see people in a way no one else can see them and share insights (when invited) that they cannot see about themselves. To protect their energy reserves and make efficient use of their time, their body has a built in a mechanism to identify when to share insights and when to hold off, called “wait for the invitation”. This ensures that when they are sharing insights with people about themselves, they are open to and ready to hear the insight, otherwise the wisdom shared comes off as repelling and unwanted. Think of Projectors as the lighthouse, the one that can see all from an objective point of view and is here to guide the boats (Generators, Man-Gens, Manifestors, Reflectors) on the water on how to best use their energy and the best path to get to where they want to go. That’s me! 🙋🏽‍♀️☺️

·      Manifestors (The Initiators) (about 7%) are here to initiate. They are here to change the course of our lives collectively and insert new ideas for the betterment of humankind and the Earth. They also have limited energy, but if they are working on a new idea and passion project they can have bursts of energy that will allow them to go-go-go and at some point they will crash and need to rest. They are meant to start things and then hand them off to Generators or Man-Gens to finish them, so they can move on to the next thing. Meaning Manifestors are not meant to finish everything they start. They have a a closed and impactful aura, to allow them the space to create and innovate. Due to their close aura it makes them hard to read, for Manifestors their built in mechanism to protect their energy is to inform. To inform mean story share their thoughts and ideas with those closest to them, to bring people along on their journey and build support for their ideas. Manifestor energy is intense and can be felt as soon as they walk into a room or enter a space. If you’ve ever watched the TV show Friends, this reminds me of Joey’s “take notice walk”. Manifestors have a “take notice presence” without consciously trying!

·      Reflectors (The Mirrors) are the rarest (about 1%). They are here to reflect people, places and environments back to us. Reflectors are very sensitive to people they are around and their environment. Being mindful and intentional with who they share their energy with and where they go is important to maintain a healthy operating system that uplift and nourishes them. Their built in mechanism to guide their energy is to sample. To sample, meaning their energy naturally ebbs and flows and they are here to have a wide range of experiences. If you have heard the phrase, “stepping into someone else’s shoes” this is a Reflector’s natural gift to do just that! They have the ability to truly walk in someone else’s shoes.

As you can see, each energy type is so unique! They bring such different energy and they are all beautiful. When I was a Manager I had a team with most of the types: 2 Generators, a Manifestor, a Manifesting Generator, and of course me as the Projector. We created such a beautiful synergy together, our team was efficient, collaborative and everyone was able to lean into their unique strengths to create balance and harmony. It was honestly the best team EVER! A true testament to how we are all uniquely created and none of it is a hindrance, it is all divinely created and in learning how to optimize and work together… we create MAGIC!

I think we can bring this one to a close now. Hopefully this supported you in understanding why I am so passionate about Human Design and the insights it gives us! It has changed my life and I will continue to share it with the world. Life can be easier if we have those awareness and understanding of ourselves and others.
